This is Either Really Stupid or Really Smart

The Religion Clause blog has this interesting story about a high school student that complained that a creative writing assignment about how evil can exist if God is omnipotent. Now, the whole point of theists' arguments in the Intelligent Design cases is that we should have free reign to teach ideas as long as those ideas are not overt attempts to proselytize, teach about a faith, or--and this is really what it comes down to--make people feel slighted for any reason whatever. So this struck me as taking that whole movement a big step back. On the other hand, maybe this is a cunning tactic meant to illustrate that, hey, two can play at that silly dirty game.
